For nearly 50 years, Bobby “Papa Bear” Garris was a beloved part of the kart racing community.

A racer, mentor, and friend to countless drivers, he was known for his kindness, honesty, and willingness to help anyone in the pits.

To many racers he wasn’t just competition — he was family.

The Bobby Garris Memorial Race was created to bring that racing family together each year and celebrate the legacy he left behind.

The race will be 51 laps. Each lap can be sponsored for $25 in honor of Bobby “Papa Bear” Garris.

You can sponsor with your name, by family, by team, with a message, by a business, etc.

How It Works

If All 51 Laps Are Sponsored: 51 laps × $25 = 🏁 $1,275 Available

Each sponsored lap adds money directly to the race and rewards the driver leading that lap.

Instead of all sponsorship money going only to the final finishers, every lap becomes valuable during the race. If a driver dominates the race but loses the lead late, they still take home the money from the laps they led.

Ex. If all laps are sponsored, a driver leads 50 of the 51 laps, but loses the lead on the final lap, they would still earn: 50 laps × $25 = $1,250

The final lap leader would receive the remaining lap payout.
